Orlando Espinosa

During his 40 years in the food service industry, Orlando has had personal responsibility for the programming, design, operation, procurement, construction and management of some of over 1,200 projects – some of the most unique and complex food service facilities both nationally and internationally.

Projects range in size and scope from: design, construction oversight, fit out, commissioning and startup of five Summer Olympic Athletes Village foodservice operations; to offshore oil platform foodservice operations in the Persian Gulf; to the renovation of Fortune 100 Corporate food service operations internationally.

Prior to founding OE+A, Orlando’s career included leadership at ARAMARK Corporation as Vice President of Design, overseeing more than 100 employees handling 500+ diverse assignments annually for ARAMARK Lines of Business. While at ARAMARK, Orlando led the design, development, and implementation of branded restaurants and cafés, convenience and grocery stores, new residential dining concepts, and pre K-12 population dining facilities.

Orlando is a frequent guest speaker to leading industry organizations such as NAFEM, SFM, FCSI, Foodservice Design Boot Camp, NACUFS, and serves on many manufacturer and industry business strategy sessions charting paths manufacturers take in these changing environments.

Karen Gallagher, Partner: Finance + Internal Project Management

Karen Gallagher

Karen joined Orlando Espinosa + Associates team in 2005, and was promoted to Partner in 2008. She is responsible for financial operations and internal project management. Her expertise and experience include productivity improvement, system implementation, budget management, financial reporting and process improvement, with significant experience in site surveys, equipment analysis and recommendations.

Prior to OE+A, Karen was as the Finance Director of the ARAMARK Corporation’s in-house design organization, responsible for the day-to-day financial activity, short-term budget planning and long-term strategic financial planning.  Karen also developed a proprietary software system for ARAMARK organization to track time and expenses against projects, and oversaw the monthly billing process to internal and external clients on $60 Million in annual revenue and $300 Million in project value.

Karen has an MBA in Finance from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, and earned her BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA.

Ethelee Welliver: Senior Designer

Ethelee Welliver

Ethelee has been working in the design industry for 25 years and joined the Orlando Espinosa + Associates team in 2008. Her project experience with OE+A team includes foodservice design for the 2012 London Summer Olympics, Principal Financial Group, Cerner Corporation, Bryn Mawr College, Lebanon Valley College and the University of North Texas.

Prior to joining the OE+A team, Ethelee was self-employed for 10 years as a Project Manager/AutoCAD Drafting Consultant. Her work includes design projects for Milton Hershey School, Merion Cricket Club, Delaware Technical and Community College, St. George’s Technical High School, Wrangle Hill Elementary School, Villanova School of Law Café, and Potomac Hospital. Ethelee also worked for ARAMARK Corporation as an Associate Project Manager/Food Facilities Designer, and was team Leader for the Specialty Coffee Division within ARAMARK’s in-house design organization. Ethelee’s ARAMARK project portfolio includes University of Minnesota, University of Hartford, Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Kellogg’s, and Citicorp.

Ethelee earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Graphic Communications at Arizona State University, as well as earning a Computer Aided Drafting, Design and Information Systems Diploma from the University of Advancing Technology.
